Orders, shipping & collection

Everything you need to know about ordering online from Pulse Collective and collecting in store.

Where do you ship to?+

We ship across the UK as standard. International shipping is available on request — contact us first with your country and items so we can quote postage and confirm any restrictions on sealed product.

How long does delivery take?+

UK orders are dispatched within 1–2 working days. Royal Mail Tracked 48 typically arrives within 2–3 working days from dispatch. Tracked 24 is available at checkout for next-working-day delivery on orders placed before our cut-off.

Do you offer click & collect?+

Yes — choose Click & Collect at checkout and pick your order up free from our Manchester store. We will email you as soon as it is ready, usually within a few hours during opening times.

Can I reserve a card or sealed product?+

For singles, message us with the card name, set and number and we will check the binder. For sealed product, drop us a note via the contact page and we will hold items for up to 48 hours.

How are singles and high-value cards packaged?+

Singles are sleeved in a perfect-fit and toploader, then placed in a rigid mailer. Cards over £20 are double-sleeved and shipped tracked. Cards over £100 are sent signed-for as standard.

Pre-orders & new releases

When can I pre-order new Pokémon sets?+

We list pre-orders as soon as Pokémon Company International confirm release dates. Sign up to our newsletter or follow us on Instagram to get a heads-up the moment listings go live.

When will my pre-order ship?+

Pre-orders dispatch on or just before the official street date. We will email a tracking number as soon as your parcel is on its way.

Can I cancel or refund a pre-order?+

All pre-order items are non-refundable. Stock is reserved based on confirmed purchases, so once an order is placed it is final. Delays or release-date changes do not trigger refunds unless an item becomes permanently unavailable, in which case you will be refunded in full.

Do you allocate pre-orders fairly?+

Yes — pre-orders are honoured in the order received and we never bump online orders to favour resellers. If a SKU sells out, we will tell you straight away and offer alternatives.

Returns & refunds

A summary of our returns policy. The full policy lives on the Returns page.

What is your returns window?+

You have 30 days from receiving your item to start a return. Items must be sealed and in the same condition you received them, with original packaging intact.

Can I return opened sealed product?+

Unfortunately not. Trading card products with broken seals or opened booster boxes, ETBs, tins or packs cannot be accepted, as we cannot guarantee the contents have not been searched.

My order arrived damaged — what do I do?+

Contact [email protected] within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the packaging and the item. We will sort a replacement, refund or store credit as quickly as possible.

How long do refunds take?+

Refunds are processed within 10 working days of us approving your return, back to your original payment method. Your bank may take a few extra days to show the funds.

Are there items I cannot return?+

Opened or unsealed trading cards, sale items, gift cards and personalised items are non-returnable. Pre-order items are non-refundable as outlined above.

Buying singles, trade-ins & valuations

Do you buy Pokémon collections?+

Yes — we buy Pokémon collections of all sizes, from a handful of vintage holos to entire bulk lots. Bring your collection into the shop or message us a photo for an indicative offer.

Cash or store credit?+

You can choose either. Store credit gets a noticeably better rate and never expires, so it is the popular choice if you are reinvesting into sealed product or singles.

How do you value cards?+

We benchmark every card against current market data — recent sold prices, set demand and condition. For larger collections, we will go through the cards with you so you can see exactly what we are pricing.

Do I need to grade my cards before selling?+

Not at all. We can advise on whether grading is worth it for your specific cards before you commit to the cost and turnaround time.

Can I trade up for sealed product?+

Absolutely — that is one of the most popular things we do. Bring your singles in, pick what you want from the shop and we will balance it out in store credit.

Visiting the Manchester shop

Where are you based?+

We are an independent card shop in Manchester. Drop into the contact page for full address, opening hours and directions.

Do you run events?+

Yes — we host weekly events for Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece and Star Wars Unlimited, plus beginner-friendly learn-to-play nights. Check the Events page for the current schedule.

Is parking available?+

Parking is available nearby. We will keep the contact page up to date with the easiest options.

Are kids and families welcome?+

100%. Pokémon and Lorcana are great entry points for younger players and we always have starter decks and learn-to-play sessions ready to go.

New to TCGs? Start here

Which card game is best for kids or families?+

Pokémon and Disney Lorcana — clear rules, colourful themes and great starter products. Both have an active community at our learn-to-play nights.

Starter deck or booster packs — what is better first?+

A starter deck. It is ready to play out of the box, and you can expand or bling your deck out with boosters and singles later.

How do I learn the rules quickly?+

Use the quick-start sheet in the box, watch a 5-minute tutorial on YouTube, and pop into one of our learn-to-play nights — we will teach you in person.

How many sleeves do I need for a deck?+

Most decks use 60–65 sleeves. Buy a 100-pack to cover sideboards, replacements and any cards you swap in later.

What is the cheapest way to start a TCG?+

Buy a starter deck and a budget pack of sleeves, then upgrade with specific singles for the cards you need. You do not have to chase boxes to play competitively.

How do I choose between Pokémon, Lorcana, MTG and One Piece?+

Pick by theme and complexity. Pokémon and Lorcana are the most accessible; MTG and One Piece have deeper strategy. Whatever you choose, we will have product and a community for it.

Accessories & card care

Which sleeves are best for tournament play?+

Standard-size matte sleeves are the gold standard for shuffling and durability. Double-sleeve any valuable cards with perfect-fits underneath.

Binder or toploader — what should I use?+

Binders are efficient for sets and bulk; toploaders and semi-rigids are best for high-value singles and postage. Most collectors use both.

How do I store cards long-term?+

Keep cards sleeved, upright, dry and out of direct sunlight. Acid-free binders are worth it for vintage and high-value collections.

Do I need inner sleeves (perfect fits)?+

For valuable decks or grading-worthy cards, yes — inner + outer sleeves (double-sleeving) prevent dust and moisture and keep cards pristine.

What size sleeves does Pokémon TCG use?+

Standard size, 66×91mm. The same sleeves fit Lorcana, MTG and One Piece, so you only need one type.
